ONE DOWN!

WELL THERE YOU HAVE IT, ONE MONTH DOWN!
And the verdict about the new job.
Only 359 more months to go.  That’s if I can retire at 62…if not then I guess just adjust it.
What comments, thoughts, criticisms, or feelings do I have may you ask?
Well, a few; I guess now that it’s been a month.  Some good things, some hate, some things that are things; it’s all what it is and I’m not really feeling any certain way about any of it, but…
The hate: Never give the good news first. It’ll just seem overzealous and pompous without cause.  The things I hate are really, only gripes and general bitch mode complaints.  For instance, I HATE EVERYTHING to do with mobile home units, duct board, and metal pipe by the box.  All stuffs that are just big and awkwardly heavy.  Also, not a fan of the box truck…it just drives like a brick in heat.
The whatever:  The guys.  All the in-your-endos… just always on… [eyes roll].  And the fact that Tom and Alex call me by anything BUT my name, version of, or by the nickname I gave them, Monkey Boy.  And still learning the system and trying to remember where everything is.  Like I said, it’s all whatever.
The good:  LOVIN’ IT!!!!!  The guys I work with are great guys.  Always willing to help and make sure I learn what I need to learn and learn it the right way the first time.  If I have a question, I never feel dumb about asking them for clarification or for help to figure something out.  The work is some heavy lifting at times which I am not used to.  All past jobs have been retail or food service; biggest thing I slung was a 50 pound bag of flour into a mixing bowl.  Now I have to sling 100 pound [plus] boxes of metal duct and drag or cart around furnaces and air conditioners off the truck.  And boxes of duct board (4ftx10ftx1in; 6ea in a box, compressed fiberglass) are just the worst and most strenuous thing, especially when I have to do it alone.  I get to plan on a forklift from time to time.  And the best part is the drive time.  Much of my day is driving and I love it.  Lots of the places we go are in the boonies, out on county roads.  Drive time is easy time.  I just turn shuffle all on Amazon Music and go, and go, and load up at the warehouse again for the afternoon... then go, and go…
Of jobs I’ve had; this is the one I think I’ve been looking for.  Nothing a hate about the work or the people; just some hate about the things I work with.  Love my co-workers, love the fact I get paid to just drive a box truck or van around all day.  Love that I have nights and weekends off.  I get paid vacation and holidays.  I have time to do things like this [blog] and hang with friends.
This is the life I’ve been waiting for.  Time to GET SOME!!!!!
